Research areas:
Detection and control of stored grain and feed
identification and application of biological activity produced by probiotics (lactic acid bacteria).
The current work mainly involves detection and control of mould in stored grain, identification and mechanisms of the biologically active substances produced by lactic acid bacteria.
Presided (completed) three National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 National Key Research Project, 1 scientific research project of the food industry public welfare industry, 1 Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province, 1 Science and Technology Support Program Project of Jiangsu Province, 1 food industry standard formulation.
Dr. Du published more than ten papers in Food Microbiol., J. Agric. Food Chem., Microbiology-SGM, Letters in Applied Microbiology, Journal of Food Safety, Journal of Food Protection and 10 papers in CSSCI. Dr. Du has been authorized more than eight national invention patents.
